Mike Mayo was one the assistants for the Crossland High School team and he took great pride in that. He was very eager to do the best job possible and help out the team in any way possible. He took some hazing from the class of 1970 CHS football players, but was an intergal part of our team.  Both Coach Merricks and Layman relied on him.  He never seemed to be in a bad mood and was very pleasant. He will be missed, RIP.

We grew up a few streets (Webster Lane) from Mike and his sister Kathy. I'm pretty sure they lived on Payne Drive. I remember playing pick-up games of baseball and football at Scuderi Field. Those were good times when we felt safe walking the neighborhood getting enough friends together to do something like that. Mike was soft-spoken, tall and so hard to defensively cover. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

I recognize Michael by his phot and remember his name too. Seems like he must have had something to do with the Theatre Productions we did Senior Year. Or maybe he and I were just in a number of classes together.

Thanks for Posting what you all do.
