Mike George passed away this morning 2/21/2019 at Anne Arundel Medical Center at 6:25AM. He was surrounded by his daughters, wife, brother Mark, sister, and two nephews with much love encompassing him. He was pain free, totally comfortable, and had made his peace with his Lord and Savior a few days earlier. Mike had struggled and dealt with much over the past 5 years since his first bout with cancer and all the health/life issues that followed him up until today. Mike had shared with his brother Mark on several occasions that he was tired and that his battles were getting tougher as he got older, but that he had to be here for his family. With life pushing Mike to the limits over the past few years, Mike gave up many of the things he loved and enjoyed doing to allow his quality time to be with his family. Mike George was a good friend, classmate and person. His fellow CHS classmates have many good memories of the time we spent together and the things we did, some going back to Taney Junior high. Mike attended many of the early CHS alumni golf outings and paired with Jim Epps and Billy Hartman, which led to many adventures and misadventures. Mike was a good sport and laughed with us as we all enjoyed life. He will be missed, RIP my friend.

Carl Marchetti said, "I remember I had a paper route (the afternoon news paper for 5 cents) and Mike George and his family were one of my customers. Used to stop and talk "shi$", whatever with him when he was there. A really good guy. Never heard him say anything bad about anyone."
Dave Johnson said, "My most lasting memory of Mike was coming home one night with a car full of guys (George, Tony, Curt, etc.) from Georgetown after a run in with a gay bar. We ran across mike hitchhiking home. Not having room in the car and not willing to leave him stranded on the side of the road, he rode on the hood of the old mustang all the way home through Temple Hills and Camp Springs."

I knew Mike from 7th grade until present......54 years. I will always remember his big face and the grin that went with it. Mike loved to fish and hunt and I had a lot of adventures/misadventures with him while doing that........Chalk Point, Charter Boats, Charles County, The Gravel Pit, Cambridge and Blackwater Refuge area. Mike also loved to play golf and became pretty good at it. Mike always carried a pencil with an eraser, a foot wedge in his bag, and could get more out of a Mulligan than anyone I ever knew. Mike loved to gamble and was a very good poker player. He did seem to always have an ace or a deuce to throw down while someone called "pot"when dealing acey-deucey at all of the Deer Camps that we shared though. Mike loved his family and raised three beautiful daughters. Mike liked to do things to get a rise out of you sometime. While on our way back to Deer Camp one time from our favorite watering hole while hunting (Brent Bailey's Friendly Tavern), he looked at me with that silly grin of his and then before I knew it we were off-roading into the ditch and thru a cornfield for about 300 yards. That was Mike.....he laughed his ass off as the rest of us were wondering if the end was near. I will miss Mike and those times that we had together. Rest in Peace my good friend.
